The Future Shorts Summer Season 2014 is here and our programmer have put together a diverse selection of short films from UK, Canada, France/ China, Spain, Austria and France.

This Summer, Future Shorts programme comprises of 8 classic, cult and award winning short films: No Joke (UK; 2013) by Maxim Kelly – a music video shows the ultimate cure, in the form of old people dancing; Butter Lamp (France/ China; 2013) by Hu Wei - a conceptual experiment where a photographer takes family pictures of several Tibetans.; the animated short film, I Am Tom Moody (UK; 2013) by Ainslie Henderson: a surreal trip through the subconscious of a stifled musician as he struggles to sing.; Cirrus (UK; 2013) by Cyriak: an old footage, complex machines and giant robots are coming together in a beautifully surreal video collage.; Life Is A Bitch (Canada; 2013) a short film in which  Francois Jaros describes  Love. Shock. Denial. Pigeons. Hospital. F__k. Rejection. Cries. Awkward in 95  scenes, 5 minutes:  life's a bitch. ; Misterio (Spain; 2013) by Chema Garcia Ibarra which shows the complex relationship between mother, father and son who are heading for a crisis in which understanding is only one way of not listening to each other.; Metube: August Sings Carmen "Habanera" (Austria; 2013) by Daniel Moshel: a YouTube anachronism as the overture of a clever opera-remix spectacle.; and the Oscar nominated short Just Before Losing Everything (France;2013) by Xavier Legrand -  the story of a family where the mother has left her abusive husband and taken refuge with her children in the local supermarket where she works.
